Accompanying all these are roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate! Tennessee State Pow-Wow This particular event in Nashville, has completed over 3 decades, and is still going strong. It is held during Native American Indian Month (mid October) features Indians from around the USA who gather to share part of their culture. Native Peoples Magazine has rated the Tennessee State Pow Wow as one of the Top 16 Pow Wows in the USA. Memphis in May International Festival This is a wakeup call to all music lovers worldwide, as they come to participate in the Beale Street Music Festival, part of the Memphis in May International Festival, for three magical days and four big stages on 33 acres overlooking the Mississippi, right on the heels of historic Beale Street. Held in early May, this festival has over 60 top artists showcasing their talents in one outrageous party with blues, rock, gospel, R&B, and alternative. Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester (mid June) goes on for 4 days and is a multistage camping festival held on a beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester. It unites some of the stellar performers in rock and roll, along with dozens of artists in complementary styles such as jazz, Americana, hip-hop, electronica, and just about any contemporary music you can think of, on one platform. There is a 100-acre entertainment village as part of the festival, which is abuzz with activity all the time and has attractions and activities including a classic arcade, on-site cinema, silent disco, comedy club, theater performers, a beer festival, and a music technology village. Elvis Week Fans of Elvis Presley from all over the world and of all ages flock Memphis every August to celebrate the Elvis Week, which is a commemoration of the music, magic and memories associated with the legacy of Elvis Presley. It comprises a week-long extravaganza with music, dance, sports, social and charitable events - all in an atmosphere of international friendship and camaraderie.
